Celebrity Families

Usually, when I've already exhausted the content of my social media feeds, I'd go to Google and search for one word: Brangelina. I change it sometimes to "Jolie-Pitts" or just "Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie". I always seem to have this need to know what's going on with their lives - where the paparazzis have last seen them, if Shiloh's still wearing boy's clothes or if Brad and Angie's finally married.

If you still haven't heard, or if you just didn't care before, Hollywood royalties Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt now have 6 kids. The eldest is Maddox who was born in Cambodia and adopted by Jolie in 2002. Then Zahara Marley, born in Ethiopia and adopted by Jolie on July 2005. April of that same year, Pitt and Jolie's relationship was outed in the media, 3 months after Brad's split with Friends superstar Jennifer Aniston. They reached the pinnacle of controversy then, as news came out that Brad fell in love with Angie during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2004 - while still married to Jen. Jolie denied the accusation, saying "To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my own mother, is not something I could forgive" (source) Anyway, I'm assuming that they really fell in love on set (you should watch that movie, especially the behind-the-scenes footage on YouTube  to understand where I'm coming from), but never acted on it until Brad and Jen was already divorced. Brad petitioned to adopt both Maddox and Zahara and they soon became the Jolie-Pitts. A year later, they welcomed their first biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel. In 2007, they adopted Pax Thien who was born in Vietnam. Another year later, Brad and Angie was blessed with twins Vivienne and Knox.

Next on the roster are the Afflecks: Ben, Jennifer, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. No one should ever call the couple "Bennifer" because that Jennifer was Jenny from the block, J. Lo.

Moving on, Violet is now 7 years old, Seraphina, 4 and Samuel 1 year and 8 months. In regards with their family life, Ben remarkably told Jen in his Oscars' Best Picture for Argo speech, "I want to thank you for working on marriage for ten Christmases. It's good, it is work, but it's the best kind of work, and there's no one I'd rather work with." (source) which led many narrow-minded people to think that their marriage is on the rocks because they're "working" on it. Ben later explains that, "While winning an Oscar was a huge thrill, giving an Oscar acceptance speech is completely terrifying. You may remember that in my speech I thanked my wife, while also saying that the essence of marriage is work. We work together on our marriage."(source)

This family is the real deal.

Locally, the internet is abuzz with adoration for a family who call themselves Team Kramer. That's Doug, Cheska, Kendra (#kendrasuperstar), Scarlett (#scarlettdoll) and Gavin (#gavincredible).

If you're not from the Philippines, Doug Kramer is a professional Filipino basketball player while Cheska Garcia-Kramer is a Filipina actress, model, endorser and TV host. They became a couple in 2003 and got married on October 9, 2008. (They're celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary today!)

I found out about them on Instagram a few months ago. Doug and Cheska would post pictures (and later on videos, after the app's update) everyday of their adorable children. What's not to love about kikay Kendra, maldita Scarlett and you're-so-fluffy-i'm-gonna-dieee Gavin? More importantly, the couple is an inspiration to young families as they already seemed to master the art of modern upbringing.

Another family I found on Instagram are the Lachowskis. Chico (@chico_lachowski), Jessiann (@jessiann_gravel) and Milo (@lachowski_milo). See how cute that is? Even the baby has an Instagram account!!!

Daddy Chico and Mommy Jessiann are both supermodels. Chico (/Francisco) is 22 years old and was born in Brazil while Jessiann is 25 and was born in Canada. Google doesn't say how they met (most likely on the catwalks and runways) but Milo was born on March 25, 2013, basking in his parents' glorious genes.

Feel free to check their Instagram accounts out and revel in the beauty you're about to see.

Last but not the least, the road is home. That's exactly the name of this very young family's blog. Emphasis on the very, as Nirrimi is only 19 while Matt is... 20? I'm only guessing, I can't find his date of birth anywhere on the internet.

Age is definitely not an issue for these two, though. "It doesn't matter if you're young or old, as long as you have time and love for your children.", says Nirrimi on being a young mom to Alba Joy. (source)

How they met and fell in love, I'd have to tell you to read their blog to find out. Despite other people saying they're attention whores, or they're trying too hard to be the artsy, earthy, gypsy kind of family, all I can say is that it's none of those people's damned businesses. What this couple have is beautiful, as evident in their photos and blog posts.

Nirrimi Firebrace and Matt Caplin are both exceptional photographers. You may view their works at http://www.nirrimi.com/ and http://hellomexi.co/. And lo and behold, they also have Instagram accounts- @theroadishome & @mexicorosel.

That has been the Top 5 most loved and stalked families on my list. Didn't they make you happy? Or jealous? Hehe. Personally, I feel happy when I read an update about them or see new pictures of them. It's one of those far-fetched dreams that I have - to someday have a beautiful, loving and perfect family like theirs. Far-fetched because #1. I need to find a perfect baby daddy and #2. Nothing's perfect, but I want to believe that these celebrities' lives are.

If there happens to be a genie out there, I'd really like to meet any of the aforementioned families. I can babysit, teach art, teach anything! Or better yet, I just want to meet them and (if this is not too ambitious,) be friends with them.

In the meantime, I'd just settle with this cyber longing and continue living the daily rigors of my life. Who knows, I might meet that perfect husband-to-be at school, or if I could just be more focused in my life, I can be successful and famous too, and the perfect family would just come along the way.

Wishing my dreams will come true, and wishing that yours will, too.

The Voice of...

Warning: the post you're about to read exudes negativity, so if you're having a bad day, I would suggest for you to skip this post.

___________________________________

Ok, in 3…2……

I love theVoice US&UK (well, I'm in love with the concept of the show), so I can't help but compare it to ours. There is a lot to hate than love on what ABS did to the franchise. If they did it because they don't want to invest that much on the show and is on trial status, then, it should atleast be appealing and at par with the other international counterparts.

A comparison I got from google:

Please do not underestimate your viewers, ano akala niyo sa amin, insipid? (yessss, the term. i-google niyo nalang 'yan). We do not settle for mediocrity anymore.

see my hinaing below:

*I hate the green light that appears every time the judges hit the button (which lags, by the way). Parang sa computer lang, yung loading symbol.
*The lighting irritates me, it doesn't give justice to the coaches' faces.
*The sound. Parang may mali eh, o TV lang namin yun? :))
*The walls & door shouldn't have been painted that way if they can't afford to put steal/aluminum or whatever that is. It looks like I'm about to watch a play. As far as I know, tv show ang pinapanuod ko, hindi Ibong Adarna sa H.S.
*THE CHAIR!! It's the focal point of the show, people!…..that's what makes it interesting to watch! At bakit may hawak silang papel?? I don't remember Adam, or Ceelo, or Tom Jones holding one. Para saan yun? Did you even bother to watch the show that you've franchised?

They could've started grand, theVoice is not a puchupuchu contest to begin with.

Another thing I've noticed is that Lea and Apl were not that picky with their members (I'm not half as good as the contestants but they lack 'theVoice' factor). I love that Sarah is carefully choosing the people for her team.

Overall, I'm glad that they've adapted the show as there are a lot of Filipino talents to be discovered, but they could've done better. ABS has franchised way too many International shows, couldn't they at least improve on this one?

***I can't say that this is a constructive criticism, but this is how I felt about the TheVoicePh. Why did they even make it the Voice of the Philippines anyway?

Buhay pa!

Saw this last week at 7-Eleven's magazine stand:
Pogi na ng bebe ko. Charot :))

It's really been a while. In case you haven't read any of our posts, the person on the leftmost part of that magazine cover is my ultimate crush, the reason I'm a fangirl and the source of my eternal joy - Jeric Marco G. Fortuna.

Hay.

I haven't stalked him for months now. Last time I checked, may nililigawan na siya (inassume ko lang 'to based on few exchanged tweets of him and a pretty girl). We also saw him recently on TV (GGV!) with Tep's Jeric Teng. Grabe, reminisce.

Memories of our fangirling adventures never fail to put a smile on my face. Kahit nakakahiya, kahit nakakapagod at nakakafrustrate minsan, kahit ano pa man. Yung level ng kilig hindi na mapapantayan.

If I have to take away something from our fangirling, it would be those fulfilling moments of having interacted with them, of seeing them up close and being able to talk to them (kahit very very small talk lang). Sulit lahat ng kabaliwan :))

Furthermore, if someone will ask me if I have already lived my life to the fullest, I can answer it with a big Yes! Isa na to sa mga rason. I believe that sometimes, you just have to throw your sense and caution to the wind, enjoy life and just ride with it.

But again, dapat sometimes lang yun. Di pwedeng laging baliw at baka matuluyan :-|

Make memories, make them count, make them worthwhile.

O kay sarap mabuhay. :)

Music & Tears

Hi Hopias!

Long time no read, right? Probably because we're no longer "inspired", the basketball fever has long been cold. Haha Which is why we'll talk about other stuff.. Like movies! Have you watched Les Miserables? It's the bomb! Very inspiring and all the actors were great! Kainis. :p And si Hugh, all throughout the movie ang galing galing, no wonder he won best actor. If you're into musicals, you'll love this. Actually kahit sino basta kaya mo tagalan na puro kanta kanta. I wish we can also create a film (musical) as good as Les Mis, yung hindi pilit na awkward.

Me singing I dreamed a dream

"To love another person is to see the face of God" -Les Miserables

Thanks for reading&listening!

I Second the Motion

Law of Attraction.
I first heard of it from John Calub's Money Magnet seminar. He taught it to us in various ways but this documentary (as mentioned in Tep's previous post) will give you an idea of what it's all about:

This post is actually an updated version of the one I did last December. I'm typing this one today at 2:48PM on October 9, 2013.

What I wrote before was too tedious to read so I'll try to simplify things to the best of my ability, to suit your reading comforts. :))

The Secret has already been debated over and reviewed for so many times. A guy named Alexander Kjerulf said, "The important thing here is that The Law of Attraction itself is real. But the arguments and explanations put forward in The Secret are alternately unscientific, mystical, nonsensical or just plain wrong." (Read his entire review here.)

I'm sharing this to you so you can have both sides of the story and can decide what's best to believe in. Here's another supporting review, negating John Calub and The Secret. In Andrea Toledo's blog post, she states that "The Secret is not the answer to unlocking the so-called infinite potential of both man and the Universe. Over-optimism is just another word for DELUSION. Watch this RSA Animate video to more clearly understand why too much of anything, including that of positive thinking, can lead to disastrous results. At the end of the day, we must exercise a balance between idealism and realism, or what I personally call "Idearealism"."

Idearealism. Big and shiny word! I actually loved her insight, and loved her site more when I read this on another post: "The key to progress is MOMENTUM. One thing I've learned from a really good friend's dearest mentor is this: What separates the talented ones from the successful ones is that the latter KEEP ON MOVING, MOVING, MOVING... Most especially when they are NOT IN THE MOOD to do anything. :) It's called momentum. Never lose it."

Another example of what she said is the book "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. Listen to the Soul of the World, open your eyes to opportunities and make sure that you act on them.

The previous version of this post goes on about another one of my surprise encounters with my love, Jeric Fortuna. I believed that it happened because my mind directed it to happen. Law of Attraction.

Even after all the stated arguments, I still personally believe in this law. Optimism is always good. But as always, too much of anything is bad. It's up to you, whatever works.

Bottom line is, no matter what method towards success that we use, it's really up to us. We must work for it. We must move our butts out of the chair we're sitting on. Remove our limp bodies from bed. Every. Single. Day. We have to move to make things happen. We can't just wait for opportunities to knock on our doors.

Same goes with personal development. Cosmopolitan Magazine founder Helen Gurley Brown once said, "You cannot sit around like a cupcake asking other people to come and eat you up and discover your great sweetness and charm. You've got to make yourself more cupcakable all the time so you're a better cupcake to be gobbled up."

If I were to make my own formula, it would be Positive Thinking + Great Ideas + Action = Success.

I hope you learned something new from what you've just read. Feel free to share your ideas with us! :)

The Universe will Find a Way

And the Best Actress Award goes to.. Tentereren.. Oops gising gising!

Before taking a bath I sometimes do monologues. I cry and spill out words as if cameras are really there, uhm inside the bathroom ? Haha! You know the usual act when you burst out in tears while you're angry at someone? That's my favorite scene to do. And no kahit nasa banyo ako, I don't do the "ang dumi-dumi ko" habang nakaupo sa lapag at nakadamit pa with matching kuskos sa braso acting. Not my theng  Sometimes I even do it when I'm off somewhere. Kunwari nainis ako sa katabi ko sa jeep, iniimagine ko kung ano gagawin ko and it somehow shows in my facial expression. I just can't help it. Is it just me?? Am I that weird?

Fan girls are not just followers of their idols. They dream to be like them as well. Me, personally I want to star in MMK (kahit isang episode lang direk!) and when I do, I'll make sure that even the director will drop a tear. Not because of my bad acting but because he'll feel as if it's real. Yes, that's how confident I am in my mind, wishing that it'll translate into reality. I don't know if I'll have the courage to submit an audition video to star magic because I'm hoping for my dream to happen the way I planned it. Peace.

According to the documentary "The Secret" not all that you dream of is what you really want. You'll know it when you feel good about it and then the universe will do the rest to help you achieve it. That's how law of attraction can take effect. Well, some things are better said than done. Ang hirap kaya, I tried it but I still don't know If I'm feeling the "good feeling" they're talking about.

I am in constant search of tips or ways to achieve my goal. The documentary that Te recommended to me is very enlightening and encouraging, that is the aforementioned. It has been helpful to me and I know It will be the same to you. I don't have actual proof that it is effective, i'm still practicing the law of attraction. I'll update this post when one of my dreams come true. It might take a year or a decade but still, it will happen. I believe it will. Positive Vibes.

♥,

And im back! It's not about being an artista ah, pero I got to feel how it is to be famous! Well, sort of. I tweeted (what is the past tense of tweet?) a drawing of mine and tagged Anne Curtis and Ramon Bautista. I got instant followers! (20 plus lang, hindi naman ganun karami) And, there are peepz who commended my work. I feel so appreciated. :')

Special thanks to you all and to the gorgeous Anne Curtis Smith :D Please do not unfollow me guys haha! Love love!

Aftershock

Left these cookies at Fort's dorm last night...

I had it made last Sunday. "Goodbye dignityyyyy", I told my friend. "Last na 'to ah", she said.

It was quarter to 10pm.

I knew he's not there, (the wonders of social media --  stalking galore.) the nervousness comes from the idea that "I'm really doing this, wala nang bawian."

Big deal e noh haha. Well for someone who went through major self-esteem issues, it is. :)) Leaving gifts  at someone's place gives you that major fan label. If not "adik" or "stalker". Hehe

He thanked me this morning through this tweet. This is when it hurts, when you finally realize that you're just one of them girls.

"Isipin mong mabuti kung anong mabuting nagagawa nito sayo.", Tep once said to me.
Effort.
Gastos.

But I was really happy.

And it makes everything worth it. Sometimes.

Perks of being a fangirl:

1. You're constantly kilig. Cute pictures, witty posts... haay
2. Para ka nading may boyfriend, sans clingy-ness and emotional drama.
3. May "love outlet". You know those moments when you just want to hug somebody, or shout to the world how much you love someone? (ako lang ba yun, weird ko ba? :/) I can always say "I love you Fortuna!" with matching halik sa picture niya just because.

But the thing is, it's all i-m-a-ginaaary.

And something or someone can always prick your bubble and get you back to reality.

This is always the deal here right?

You/I should always be reminded of our limits as a fan.
Just get enough for inspiration but not too much that it takes over your life.

Now I'm going back to reality first so I can also fulfill my other dreams.

Au revoir, Jeric Fortuna. This has been a lovely dream.

Taray fumefrench pa haha. Happy birthday on the 25th :)

Te
